Brent McMahon Signs With Blue Competition

Leading Canadian triathlete to ride Blue in his assault on the Ironman world championship 70.3

Norcross, Georgia – July 29 – Blue Competition Cycles announced today they are sponsoring triathlete Brent McMahon, from Victoria, BC Canada. McMahon, who won the Silver medal at the 2007 Pan American Games and Bronze at the 2005 World Xterra Championship, is now setting his sites on non-drafting and 70.3 triathlons. His goal is to win the 2008 70.3 World Championship.

“With Brent’s success in both Olympic Distance ITU and off-road triathlon racing, and his proven ability as a cyclist, he is in a perfect position to take non-drafting and 70.3 events by storm this year,” said Chance Regina of Blue Competition Cycles. “And Blue has a new secret weapon to help Brent and other world class triathletes optimize their cycling. Look for details to follow on that,” Regina concluded.

“I am thrilled to be riding Blue Competition Cycles. This opportunity could not have come at a better time,” said McMahon. “When my coach, Lance Watson and I sat down and analyzed my strengths as a triathlete, we decided it was time to move on to non-drafting US races and the 70.3s,” McMahon continued. “Both formats suit my ability to ride hard and get a good start in the run due to my strength on the bike. I knew, however, that I would need a world-class bike to make the most of my abilities. Blue is making the best bikes out there right now, so this sponsorship means a lot to me,” McMahon concluded.

Brent McMahon began his quest at the Ironman 70.3 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. He will race a variety of events throughout the summer and will cap off his season on November 8 at the 70.3 World Championships in Clearwater, Florida.
