Following the 2007-2008 launch of the Zoot ULTRA Footwear line, Zoot celebrates its 25th anniversary with the Limited Edition Ali’i shoe, named after the famous Ali’i drive in Kona, Hawaii. Zoot Sports was born in Kona in 1983 as the first Triathlon brand, with the creation of the first “Trisuit.” 25 years later, Zoot is offering premium wetsuits, apparel, footwear and accessories. To celebrate its heritage and more importantly, the athletes in the sport, Zoot introduces a Limited Edition Ali'i Zoot Ultra Race Shoe for the Summer of 2008. The shoe will be the same shoe as the ULTRA Race, but designed with a Kona-inspired theme. As Zoot Sports’ #1 retailer, TriSports.com came up with the idea of auctioning off the #1 pair of this limited run shoe to benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Zoot loved the idea, and the partnership was born.
Auction items: Only 1800 pairs of these Limited Edition Ali’i shoes will be made, each pair printed with its number. The #1 pair will be auctioned off to the highest bidder and proceeds will benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Along with the #1 pair of Ali’i shoes, Zoot and TriSports.com will include 4 VIP passes to the exclusive Zoot party headquarters on Ali'i Drive during Ironman Hawaii 2008, plus a private swim lesson in Kona with your choice of Sam McGlone or Luke Bell. The auction will begin on April 28th and end on April 30th. More details about the auction, the shoes and the complete prize package can be found at: http://benumber1.trisports.com/.
